In 1852, Marysville's original residents - gold miners and entrepreuners - settled into Marysville to seek their fortunes, creating at one time, the third largest city in California. Today Marysville's historic downtown reminds us of those early settlers, while beckoning today's pioneers to bring history to life by participating in Downtown Marysville's renaissance as the heart and soul of the city.

The City of Marysville is committed to making history again and has embarked on an ambitious Economic Development Strategic Plan to create attractive business and development opportunities and to provide strategic support for today's entrepreneurs. In August 2006, the City adopted the Downtown Marysville Marketing Plan that defines strategic goals and objectives for assisting the downtown business community with its vision to become a regional, cultural and entertainment destination.

The BID provides a strong network for property and business owners, who benefit from cooperative advertising and marketing campaigns and special events that promote downtown as a destination for resident families and daytime employees alike.

The City, with its strong partnership of the County of Yuba, the Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Marysville BID work together to provide a viable, business-friendly environment for new and existing ventures, that are becoming history as part of Downtown Marysville's 21st century renaissance!
