Veterans Day

Veterans Day Parade

Veterans Day is meant to recognize war veterans in the plural. The holiday is commonly misprinted as Veteran's Day or Veterans' Day in calendars and advertisements. It is, instead, a day for all Americans, intended to honor the contributions of service men and women throughout our Nation’s history.

Veterans Day also commemorates the time and day at which the major hostilities of World War I were formally ended: the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. Hence, every November 11th at 11:00am marks the official parade commencement, rain or shine. The parade route follows D Street in Historic Downtown.
