Downtown Marysville Chautauqua

Downtown Marysville is alive with culture, arts, history and entertainment. The Chautauqua (pronounced sha-talk-wah) is a whole day devoted to inspiring our community and showcasing our fine city. We hope you come explore, learn, shop and play.

The Chautauqua, scheduled for the last Sunday of every month, April through September from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., is aimed at promoting local art, history, culture, and entertainment, while encouraging the community to become more involved in the heartbeat of Marysville - the Historic Downtown.

President Theodore Roosevelt once called Chautauqua "the most American thing in America."

Downtown businesses are encouraged on this day to be a venue for local artists, musicians, historic building or shop tours, demonstrations or other activities; historical walking tours are also included on this day, as well as tours of the Bok Kai Chinese Temple, The Mary Aaron Home and The Chinese Museum. Look for a unique experience inside any shop with a big blue butterfly flag.
